Mars 216 is a small planet in the Alpha Centauri system, the fourth planet out from its sun, with two natural satellites in its sky. The planet is referred to as "Barsoom" by its native inhabitants. It has a dwindling atmosphere maintained by an atmosphere factory.
History[]
A Princess of Mars (2009)[]
Earth scientists had knowledge of this world, and they believed it had an atmosphere. They possessed the technology to send humans to this planet, and they had to do this blind, as their scans were incapable of penetrating through its atmosphere to the surface.
Two humans were sent - Sarka and John Carter - and their arrival had a significant effect on the political status of the world. Sarka even put the world in peril by threatening the planet's atmosphere factory.
