Hekkador

Hekkador is the title of the leader of the Holy Therns. Matai Shang is the last holder of the title. According to Matai Shang a Hekkador only keeps a wife for one Martian year after which she is dismissed to become a respected High Priestess presiding over one of the many Thern Shrines. Clearly it is good to be Hekkador.
