Dusar is a Red Martian kingdom with a history of conflicts with the neighboring kingdoms of Helium and Ptarth. In Thuvia, Maid of Mars, Dusar's prince, Astok, kidnapped the princess of Ptarth, Thuvia, intending to force her to marry him. To evade detection, he disguised his ship as a Heliumite ship, intending for the people of Ptarth to think that Thuvia had been kidnapped by Helium's prince, Carthoris. One of Dusar's more famous exports is honey.
